Field Application Engineer – Americas

The Company:

Sensera Ltd. (ASX:SE1) is an Internet of Things (IOT) solution provider that delivers Sensor based products transforming real-time data into meaningful information, action and value. The company designs and manufactures hardware and software across the vertical technology spectrum from unique structures as MicroElectroMechanical Systems (MEMS) and sensors, as well as wireless networked systems and software that when combined, drive an entire IOT platform solution.

The Job:

You will provide technical support and leadership for our sensor and location aware products to both direct and distribution customers.  As part of our customer-facing sales and support team, you will report to the Sensera EVP of Sales.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre and Post sales support. Directly interfacing to customers and taking ownership of technical education and issues through to completion. This involves a mixture of: Presentations and hands-on activities such as crafting tests and measuring results, gathering and analyzing logs, reviewing PCB layouts and recommending circuit, PCB and firmware changes. This will all be done working directly with customers, sales and distribution field application engineers along with our Product Marketing, Application Engineering and R&D teams:

  • Be part of a global network: Travel to customers and partners for on-site sales, support and training.
  • Bring new ideas on product developments working with Product Marketing and Sales.
  • Manage the customer technical interface for any new product development.
  • Prioritize technical support for nanotron’s key customers.
  • You will work alongside a dynamic and rapidly growing team of software and hardware engineers.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in hardware and software development, debug and test relating to embedded wireless products, knowledge of meaningful tools like PERL, Matlab and C
  • Well-organized individual taking ownership and able to prioritize work with an ability to make decisions with limited supervision, and where no obvious process is available
  • Great teammate, able to easily build relationships with external customers, partners, vendors and with other divisions of the company
  • BS/MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • A high standard of technical communication – both verbal and written is a requirement
  • A willingness and ability to travel to customers and partners
  • Appreciation of the commercial issues surrounding the provision of support
  • Fluency in English, additional languages are a benefit

Desired:

  • Consistent record in delivering customer-facing support, both on-site and remotely via email and telephone
  • Excellent communicator that can simplify complex technical activities
  • Detailed knowledge of wireless communications protocols like Bluetooth or WiFi and how they are implemented in hardware and software
  • Detailed knowledge of RTLS technologies such as GNSS and how they are implemented in hardware and software

This position can be based anywhere within North America (home office) or in our Woburn, MA facility.

Micro-Assembly Technician 

Summary Description:

Micro-assembly work based in a Woburn, MA company. Work with a highly skilled team to assemble and test Fiber Optic Pressure Sensors. Team members will work with both electro-mechanical and fiber optic components.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Detail oriented with experience in precise alignment of optical components while working under a microscope

2) Expertise working with Fiber Optics is a plus

  • Handling Fiber
  • Removing fiber sheathing using chemicals
  • Connector/Ferrule attach using epoxy
  • Connector/Ferrule polishing and inspection
  • Cleaning of optical components

Required Skills:

  • Great hand-eye coordination and dexterity skills for assembling very small components under a microscope.
  • Great hand-eye coordination and dexterity using tweezers to position components for assembly.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Accurate data collection/entry using electronic travelers.

MEMS Process Engineer

Sensera is looking for a full time Product/Process Manufacturing Engineer who will support and sustain MEMS manufacturing process/products. This will include front-end wafer fabrication processes and back-end processes. The candidate should have hands-on experience and be able to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team to sustain and improve the process/products, improve yields, and reduce cost. Need to be capable of performing a failure analysis. Knowledge of MEMS sensors is preferred. This position reports to Engineering Director.

  • Evaluate, implement and monitor processes and for the development and production of MEMS products.
  • Create/edit/maintain necessary documentation.
  • Monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements of data.
  • Work closely with other Engineers and Technicians for quality control.
  • BS/BA in a scientific discipline required
  • Great communication, interpersonal and computer skills
  • Hands-on experience in silicon and glass wafer processing
  • Experience with stepper-based and contact photolithography, vacuum and wet processing, wafer to wafer bonding and microstructure electroplating a plus
  • Ability to work in both a clean room environment and office environment
  • Ability to work in a Clean Room for most of the day

Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required.

Required Experience:

Minimum five (5) years experience as a manufacturing engineer, equipment engineer or R&D engineer in the MEMS industry. Work experience at CMOS manufacturing lines is a plus.

Product Scheduler

Sensera is looking for a full time Product Scheduler is responsible for prioritizing work orders and coordinating and managing daily production and development schedules throughout the wafer fab. Also responsible for issuing and tracking work orders, ensuring that required material are supplied to the production floor, as according to the production schedule. This position is a focal point among all departments to effectively communicate and help meet project requirements.

  • Daily analysis, planning, and review of work cell capacity based on requirements loaded by Sales
  • Maintain and review dispatch lists targeting customer promise delivery dates.
  • Effective sequencing of jobs, processes and assignments to individual work centers or lines and providing interface between wafer fab techs, equipment and process engineers, Engineering Director and Sales.
  • Communicate with customer service on status of sales orders and estimated completion. Ensure information needed for labeling of finished goods is accurate and correct.
  • Coordinate and lead daily production meeting. Communicate with various departments on any potential production issues or needs.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working in a wafer fabrication environment- to understand thin-film processing and tools
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, using skill and diplomacy and have the ability to work with all levels of the organization
  • Familiar with Excel; NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Must possess strong knowledge, understanding and experience in various problem-solving and participatory management techniques

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, operations management or similar field with 1 – 3 years directly related experience; or an Associate Degree with 4-7 years of progressively responsible, directly related experience; or a combination of education and experience

Experience:

  • Wafer fab environment: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Microsoft Excel: 2 years (Required)
  • Production Planning: 3 years (Required)
